Project Profile

Project Country: United States
Contracting Agency and Office: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention

With the recently released National HIV/AIDS Strategy for the United States: Updated to 2020 and the launch of the President’s HIV Care Continuum Initiative to galvanize the national response to HIV, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) High-Impact Prevention (HIP) approach aims to achieve the greatest possible reductions in HIV infections by making sure that resources go to regions, populations, and prevention strategies where they will have the greatest impact. Danya understands the importance of making disease surveillance data actionable and impactful for CDC and partners by guiding and strengthening outreach and access to care strategies, as well as monitoring program performance and results. The abilities to improve the visualization and communication of CDC surveillance and indicator data to public health partners and to increase the knowledge and skills of internal staff and external partners regarding use of National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) program performance and indicator data are essential in achieving these goals. To this end, Danya is aiding NCHHSTP in performing an in-depth user-centered analysis of the center’s Atlas tool, which allows users to analyze, map, and create tables using more than 10 years of HIV, sexually transmitted disease, hepatitis, and tuberculosis data that are reported to CDC. After the analysis, we will provide recommendations for improvements to the Atlas tool. Additionally, we are assisting NCHHSTP in improving their communication of program and performance data to CDC program grantees and stakeholders.
